Setting Up All In One SEO Pack

First do a search on google for All In One SEO Pack and download it to your computer.

Unzip or extract the files, next you need to upload the SEO Pack folder into your Plugins folder on your website, I do this with Filezilla.

Now go back to Word Press and go to the Plugins section and click activate to activate the SEO plugin.

These are what you want checked:

  • Canonical URL’s: Check
  • Rewrite Titles: Check
  • Autogenerate Descriptions: Check
  • Capitalize Category Titles: Check

Uncheck the rest!

Now, in the SEO Pack Title you want to enter your keyword only, not the site title, in the General Settings for the Blog Title is where you enter the complete Blog title like the following:

SEO Pack Configuration Panel:

Home Title: (keyword only i.e.) Mattress Pads

In the General Settings area:

Blog Title: Mattress Pads Guide

Setting Up Word Press

Setting Up Word Press

First go to Settings / General:

Then In Blog Title: Enter the keyword your site is targetting, so in my case I would enter Test My Blog or some variation of that phrase, extra words are okay.

Then in Tag Line: Enter a few words what your site is about, try to get your keyword phrase in there i.e. A site to test my blog

Next Go To Settings / Privacy:

Make sure you have the button that says this selected:

I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers

Next Go To Settings / Writing:

Make sure this url: http://rpc.pingomatic.com/ is in the Update Services box at the bottom of the page.

Next Go To Settings / Reading:

Next make sure you’re only showing 3 posts under this section, where it says : Blog pages show at most: enter 3, this is because if you put Adsense in each post the most you’re allowed to have is 3 ad blocks per page, this will prevent you from breaking the rules.

Note: I had to change it to show 2 blog posts only as I made the main keyword a Sticky Post, it then show 2 additional posts, it shows full posts but I’d like to have the two additional as excerpts but haven’t figured that out yet!

The Reading section is also where you go if you want to set your front page as a Static page if you’re using the page set up,

Test My Blog

Hey you’ve found test my blog.

I don’t know how you found this blog it must be by mistake, you see this is a private test  blog that I’ve set up to test different methods of obtaining traffic, setting up different Word Press features and other thing.   I set up this site so I have somewhere to Test My Blog thus the name.

It’s for my own benefit benefit really so I have somewhere to go to quickly and easily find information I deemed important to develop my blogs and websites.  Unless you’re a member of the Keyword Academy I doubt you’ll find the notes here very helpful, they are mostly in my own shorthand.

As a member of the Keyword Academy and if you’re interested in learning more about the Keyword Academy, they hold weekly and monthly webinars on a variety of traffic and monetization  methods to help their members earn recurring monthly income.

As I go through the webinars I’ll be posting my own notes here, they are for my own benefit so I have a quick reference point in as I progress in building my sites.

I am currently trying to set up a number of niche sites to generate online income.  If you’re interested in learning more about the keyword academy you can read more about it here.

I don’t consider myself an expert so unfortunately I can not answer any questions you may have about my posts, they are compiled for my benefit only.
I highly recommend you join TKA if you’re interested in learning more about build blogs or websites to generate passive income online.

The first step I’ve taken is to register this domain, install Wordpress and make my first post.

The first thing I wanted to do was set up a customized SEO Wordpress theme, that seems to be what is recommended. So I suspect my next post will be to do with setting up my Word Press properly.

Before I go I should mention while reading the forums I noticed you need to change the Permalink structure so I will be going to:

Settings>Permalinks  then selecting the Custom feature and pasting the following code into the box: /%postname%/

This is supposed to allow my page title to appear after the website url instead of the ugly Word Press configuration, from what I understand from the webinars it should help with Search Engine rankings  and searchers looking for answer to their questions or organic traffic.

Speak to you soon.
